Influence is the capacity to have an effect on the character, development, or behaviour of someone or something. Pretty powerful to be an influencer then! There’s a couple from Kamloops who have incredible influence in the lives of people through their goodness, compassion, and ability to listen and love. Three people share today why Doug and Linda Gleddie are the best modern day influencers who deserve a lot of recognition for their impact.
Leanne Walker Lapierre writes: “When my husband was initially diagnosed with cancer, Doug and Linda were the first people I reached out to. Their love and support has been immeasurable. They are my Kamloops Dad and Mom and they fondly call me their Kamloops daughter.”

Their sincere love for people spills over as they support, pray, and come alongside people they meet. They are at the centre of a contagious, welcoming, and inclusive community that people want to be a part of.”
Teri Fichtner writes: “Doug and Linda have been such a fun and encouraging duo to us as a family! They have always found ways to connect with us and our kids. They were also so caring and present when my husband had a very serious heart issue which required open heart surgery. Their prayers carried us in some very trying times. Last week, we had the privilege of amplifying the incredible impact of Linda and Doug Gleddie. As a part of AmpliFriday, we donate $100 to a charity of choice for our amplified individuals, and Linda and Doug chose the Hopewell Clinic + Pregnancy Centre who, in their words, "do such awesome work, loving and helping ladies walk through this difficult time in their lives."
The care and support that they provide is amazing.
Hopewell Clinic + Pregnancy Centre offers STI and unexpected pregnancy testing, as well as The Perinatal Outreach Program. This program is geared towards low-income mothers and families in need of a more robust social support system or additional emotional support during and after pregnancy to help prepare for birth and the first year of life. This client-led program can include prenatal and postnatal education, Blessings Boutique access (free baby items), doula support, community referrals, and adoption support. They also host a peer-based Wholistic Wellness Initiative that focuses on improving the health and wellness of parents and their children up to 5 years of age. The initiative provides a dynamic and interactive setting where mothers build friendships, learn life skills, and set goals for their future. The initiative has four programs: Thriving Moms, Empowering Moms, GRO and Perinatal Loss Support.
