Cindi Thompson

There are people who come into your life, and for one reason or another, through time and change, you remain connected. That’s how it is for today’s remarkable person of impact in the #Amplifriday spotlight, the feisty, people-building, and fabulous Cindi Thompson.

I first met Cindi when I was a student at Thompson Rivers University (TRU). She worked in the Counselling Department at the university where students like me (who thought they had everything figured out but then wanted to make a change) would go to get guidance and help. It’s where I met Cindi. That was in 1994, and now 30 years later, I still remember and am thankful for the remarkable impact Cindi had on me during my time at TRU. It wasn’t that Cindi had all the answers, but it was her spirit, her kindness, and the generous investment of time she made in me that helped me feel seen and important at a time in my life where I felt the pressures of the unknown of my future. She has done this for many people over the years, too.

A career with the hallmarks of Support. Guidance. Connection.

Cindi’s career has been remarkable, working at Thompson Rivers University since 1991 in a variety of departments, but the theme of her work is the same. Support. Guidance. Connection. She’s passionate about people, and when you meet her, it’s obvious that she cares. Through her decades of work, she has helped create safe spaces for people with a spirit and energy that is totally Cindi.

Cindi – you are a remarkable person of impact. As is our team at Amplify Consulting Inc.’s commitment, we will donate $100 to a charity of your choice to further amplify both your remarkable impact and the charity’s.

We were happy to amplify the remarkable impact of Cindi Thompson last week. As a part ofAmpliFriday, we donate $100 to a charity of choice for our amplified individual, and Cindi chose the Kamloops Hospice

“My mom passed away in Hospice after a stay of a few weeks. My family was so impressed with their support. One night, my sister and I entered Mom’s room to find a volunteer sitting on the floor and holding her hand while they quietly chatted. These are the kinds of people connected with Hospice. Because my mom was allowed to pass away so peacefully, Hospice has been my charity of choice ever since. Kamloops is lucky to have such a place,” notes Cindi.

The Kamloops Hospice’s mission is to enhance the quality of life of persons and their families facing death and bereavement through skilled, compassionate, spiritual, emotional, and physical care, embracing the individual’s choice. They aim to ensure every individual they care for experiences compassion and comfort throughout their end-of-life journey.

Congratulations again, Cindi, on being amplified; we are happy to make a $100 donation to the Kamloops Hospice in your honour.
