Doug Haughton

A lifetime of public service and giving back to community has landed today’s amplified individual in the #Amplifriday spotlight with a great nomination from Kamloops ranching and cowboy legend Hugh McLennan.

Hugh writes: “I would like to nominate Doug Haughton to be amplified!
I’ve known Doug since he was a teenager in a 4H Beef Club. That was his initiation into a life of public service. His work with every aspect of the B.C. ranching industry has helped ensure a viable future for the many hardworking ranching families in the province.
Haughton Ranch was named a “Century Ranch” (it celebrated 100 years in 2015) in the B.C. Cowboy Hall of Fame, and Doug’s many innovative marketing strategies have been a great example for all of us. His generous sponsorship of many important events has helped them thrive and he is always willing to offer his own cattle for clinics, workshops, and competition. Now, as a Director of TNRD Area L Grasslands, we can rest assured that our valuable agriculture sector will have a powerful voice.”

Doug – you are a remarkable person of impact! As is our team at Amplify Consulting Inc.’s commitment, we will donate $100 to a charity of your choice to further amplify both your remarkable impact and the charity’s.

We were delighted to amplify the remarkable impact of Doug Haughton last week. As a part of AmpliFriday, we donate $100 to a charity of choice for our amplified individual, and without missing a beat, Doug chose 4-H British Columbia.

"Like my dad, I have been involved since I was a kid. I was just in Williams Lake helping 4-H and 160 kids with their fair," shares Doug.

What we think of as 4-H started under a different name in British Columbia in 1914. Today the organization of nearly 3,000 young people between the ages of 6 and 21, together with thousands of volunteers, families, alumni and sponsors, comprise British Columbia's 4-H. Their most popular projects involve horses, beef and sheep. However, 4-H also offers programs like Provincial Club Week, Food for Thought, Ambassador Program, Agri-Career Quest, scholarships and contests.

Congratulations again, Doug, on being amplified; we are excited to support the 4-H of British Columbia by making a $100 donation in your honour.
