Heather Cameron

This nomination for Amplifriday came in and we were quite simply astounded with the nominee, but we weren’t surprised because the nominator is the also amplifiable Leann Kopytko. Today, the #Amplifriday spotlight is shining on the incredible Heather Cameron. Leann writes:

“I would love to nominate Heather Cameron, an Out of the Ashes award recipient who has been outstanding in their recovery journey as well as in their chosen career field.”

Leann went on to share a feature story about Heather who had received the Out of the Ashes award three times! Heather is the Executive Director of the BC Association of Pregnancy Outreach Programs and a Registered Nurse with a Perinatal Specialty Certificate who has been working with pregnant people in a variety of settings since 2005. Two programs she is rightfully proud of are a peer-based recovery support group for birth parents affected by substance use and “Health Pregnancy Care Meetings” that supported perinatal people as early as possible in their pregnancy to overcome identified barriers prior to delivery. Last year, Heather and her team launched The Pregnancy HUB, an online prenatal program offering virtual support, resources, and classes, all free to all pregnant, postpartum, and newly parenting people with infants up to 12 months old who are residents of British Columbia.

What a remarkable impact Heather is making, one individual, one family, and one baby at a time in our province. It’s hard to imagine what the future for many of these little ones and their parents might look like without this incredible support, and because of Heather, we don’t have to imagine it.

Heather – you are a remarkable person of impact! As is our team at Amplify Consulting Inc.’s commitment, we will donate $100 to a charity of your choice to further amplify both your remarkable impact and the charity’s.

We were happy to amplify the remarkable impact of Heather Cameron last week, and the feeling was mutual.

"The nomination allowed for a moment of reflection and gratitude to be able to do the work I do to help improve outcomes for pregnant, postpartum and newly parenting people," says Heather. "We all deserve that moment of reflection and recognition of our work!"

As a part of AmpliFriday, we donate $100 to a charity of choice for our amplified individual. Heather chose the Kamloops Hospice Association, sharing,

"Hospice cared so well for my children's father and my mother at the end of their lives."

The Kamloops Hospice Association's mission is to enhance the quality of life of persons and their families facing death and bereavement through skilled and compassionate physical, emotional, and spiritual care in the setting of the individual's choice.

Congratulations again, Heather, on being amplified; we are proud to support the Kamloops Hospice Association by making a $100 donation in your honour.
