Pina Russo

Amplifriday is about amplifying remarkable people of impact. If you take just a moment and look around, you’ll find friends, co-workers, family members, and even people you don’t know making the world a brighter place. Today, we have a nomination from Lisa Fuller, who took a moment to write to us about why she thinks Pina Russo should be amplified.

Lisa writes: “I would like to nominate Pina Russo for Amplifriday! Although Pina has had her struggles and losses - particularly the last 2 years - she literally shines her light through our community by highlighting others. This morning even, she built up and encouraged the barista at Starbucks, but it literally never ends. Pina recently helped organize 30 embroidered blankets for the Thompson Rivers University Wolfpack volleyball team after their loss of a teammate after she received a text from someone in the community. I don't know where to begin because the generosity, love, and light Pina gives never ends. She deserves the recognition, but would never ask for it.”

"...she literally shines her light through our community by highlighting others."

Lisa is right. Pina is light!

Pina is the Recreation Coordinator at Thompson Rivers University, and in that role, has the opportunity to connect with many student athletes and the broader community. Although a busy job, Pina gives of herself to build others up, to make them feel heard and seen… that they matter. Whether it’s organizing the community to rally together, or stopping to talk and pour into others, Pina truly does shine a light and thus makes a remarkable impact. We are so proud and honoured to pour back into her to let her know what she does matters, big time!

Pina – you are a remarkable person of impact. As is our team at Amplify Consulting Inc.’s commitment, we will donate $100 to a charity of your choice to further amplify both your remarkable impact and the charity’s.

We were delighted to amplify the remarkable impact of Pina Russo last week. As a part of AmpliFriday, we donate $100 to a charity of choice for our amplified individual, and Pina chose the Canucks Autism Network (CAN).

Reflecting on her choice, Pina shares, “I have friends with neurodivergent children. Organizations like Canucks Autism need to be supported because their services have an immediate and beneficial impact on children and their families. I strongly believe in movement as medicine, particularly for kids, and I appreciate that CAN plans many recreational opportunities throughout the year. Neurodivergent children should be given equal opportunities to participate and engage, and I hear participants love the programming offered.”

Founded in 2008, CAN promotes acceptance and inclusion through community engagement and training initiatives across BC and beyond. Through CAN programming, children as young as three years are supported in developing movement and social skills and CAN offers a continuum of support for teens, adults, and families.

Congratulations again, Pina, on being amplified; we are happy to make a $100 donation to Canucks Autism Network in your honour.
