Rob Nordin

In life, it’s a team approach that propels us further beyond what we can singularly do. When you have the right team, you’re golden, as is the case with Kamloops hosting the Scotties Tournaments of Hearts. It took a massive team – community, volunteers, and sponsors - to pull together what was an exceptional event but a special nod goes out to Rob Nordin, General Manager of the Kamloops Curling Club.

Ken Christian nominated Rob to be amplified this #Amplifriday and wrote: “Rob successfully hosted the nation in Kamloops during the Scotties event in ‘The Patch’ - curling’s party place where fans are of all ages can meet curling athletes, socialize, and enjoy food and live music. He has always been a strong supporter of curling, either for elite teams, youth, seniors, and Special Olympians or the general curling community.”

Rob has certainly been a staple in Kamloops for years. A serial entrepreneur and consummate host, Rob is a more a behind-the-scenes kind of guy, working to put others in the spotlight. As a solid and consistent supporter of athletes, the work he does helps people focus on reaching their goals as he provides that foundational support. Yes, it takes a team approach to move further beyond what we can do as individuals, but when we have steady members like Rob on our team, all things can be golden.

Rob – you are a remarkable person of impact! As is our team at Amplify Consulting Inc.’s commitment, we will donate $100 to a charity of your choice to further amplify both your remarkable impact and the charity’s.

We were delighted to amplify the remarkable impact of Rob Nordin last week. As a part of AmpliFriday, we donate $100 to a charity of choice for our amplified individual, and Rob has chosen the Sandra Schmirler Foundation.

For Rob, who would amplify the city of Kamloops, Curling Canada, all the sponsors, volunteers, three vice-chairs, and fans who played an integral part in the Scotties’ success, choosing a charity was simple.

"I chose the Sandra Schmirler Foundation because they always hold a telethon during the Scotties Tournament of Hearts, and this year they donated $70,000 to the Rita C. Mercier NICU at RIH to thank the local community for hosting the tournament. Since I was amplified for the small part I played among a volunteer group of 319 people that hosted the Scotties, it was fitting that they received the donation."

Sandra Schmirler was a curling legend, a three-time Canadian and World Curling Champion and an Olympic gold medalist. She was also a loving mother to two daughters. For over 20 years, the Sandra Schmirler Foundation has raised funds to save the lives of babies born too soon, too small or too sick.

Congratulations again, Rob, on being amplified; we are proud to support the Sandra Schmirler Foundation by making a $100 donation in your honour.
