Ryan Deneault

Reconciliation. What a big concept that is hard to define or understand. And the journey to reconciliation itself is long, many times with gaps along the way that need a bridge builder to bring truth and a safe space. In today’s #Amplifriday spotlight, we amplify the remarkable impact of such a bridge builder, and that’s Ryan Deneault.

Although very successful for years in business and socially, Ryan understands what it’s like to not fit in. As a man with Indigenous (paternal grandparents were Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc and Skeetchestn) and non-Indigenous roots (maternal grandparents were British), since birth Ryan, has walked in between two worlds. Today, understanding that our culture in Canada is seeing a shift and desire to better understand the truth of what happened to Indigenous peoples in our history, he’s embraced the opportunity to be a bridge builder for reconciliation. But it doesn’t come without its vulnerabilities.

In starting a new venture called Healing Between Worlds, Ryan has opened up to share the story of his past, including his challenges as a functioning addict for 32 years. Most times when someone starts a business, they don’t need to reveal painful and personal details of their life, but it’s Ryan’s vulnerability that gives space to others to be real. As he says, “we heal when we walk together,” and this bridge builder of a man is making, and will continue to make, a remarkable impact.

Ryan – you are a remarkable person of impact! As is our team at Amplify Consulting Inc.’s commitment, we will donate $100 to a charity of your choice to further amplify both your remarkable impact and the charity’s.

We were delighted to amplify the remarkable impact of Ryan Deneault last week. As a part of AmpliFriday, we donate $100 to a charity of choice for our amplified individual, and Ryan chose the Ask Wellness Society.

"Bob Hughes at Ask Wellness was the second person to show up at my door when I was ready to better my life and tackle ending my addiction to drugs and alcohol. I was a client of the AASH Program at the Maverick for six months as a part of my recovery. I don't know where I'd be if I didn't have the support of ASK, my family and friends. In December of 2022, I was invited to join the Board and became a member of this wonderful organization that continues to tackle the most difficult issues our community faces daily."

The ASK Wellness Society provides a range of outreach support services designed to assist community members facing homelessness, mental health issues, substance misuse, or a combination of these factors. They assist in finding, securing, and maintaining suitable housing, offer drug checking and overdose protection and, in partnership with Interior Health Authority, offer a variety of programs like theMaverick Supportive Recovery and Career Development Program and Adult Addiction and Supportive Housing (AASH). Individuals who have successfully undergone detox may access 24-hour support, wellness planning and group meetings.

Congratulations again, Ryan, on being amplified; we are excited to support ASK Wellness by making a $100 donation in your honour.
