With a big honour bestowed upon her by the Kamloops business community, we too are excited to join in the standing ovation and amplify the remarkable Sheila Minten.
Sheila is a force in business. Perhaps it’s little surprise to anyone that she recently was named Business Person of the Year at the Kamloops & District Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards.
Accepting the award draped in a beautiful pink (her favourite colour) dress, Sheila accepted the award with humility and gratitude, pointing out that her success can be attributed to the support of her family and her work team, who all incorporated pink into their wardrobe, visually signaling their support of Sheila.
Sheila works hard, and smart. Her mother and father started Total Concept Developments decades ago, and she has picked up the mantle of the family business and helped extend and amplify its positive impact. Not only that, she is a dedicated Mom, wife, and volunteer, doing so much for the community through giving of her time, energy, and financial resources. As exuberant as she is with seemingly endless energy, she is also remarkably thoughtful, kind, and always thinking of how to build up others so that they get time to shine. A business leader that makes our community, and the lives of her employees, so much richer.

We were pleased to amplify the remarkable impact of Sheila Minten last week. As a part of AmpliFriday, we donate $100 to a charity of choice for our amplified individual, and Sheila chose the Alzheimer Society of BC.
“This charity is close to my heart as my mom and her grandpa both have Alzheimer’s. By donating, we fund programming supporting those with Alzheimer’s and their loved ones and subsidize research. Hopefully, one day, the world will be free from Alzheimer's."
Currently, the Alzheimer Society’s strategic plan focuses on increasing awareness of dementia and its impact among British Columbians, enhancing the well-being of people affected by dementia and championing change. The society offers extensive programs and services, including education programs, workshops, webinars, fitness and social programs, physician referrals and support groups, including culturally-specific bilingual support for Chinese and South-Asian communities.
