Today in the #Amplifriday spotlight we highlight a remarkable individual who has spent an entire career working within the forest industry to help enhance forests and as a result, better protect communities from wildfire, enhance wildlife habitat, take action on climate change, and involve local communities and people in this work. He has also built the capacity of others to be champions of our forests, and helped provide education to turn complex forestry terms into understandable and relatable concepts. The Amplifriday spotlight shines brightly on Registered Forest Professional, Steve Kozuki!
Our team has had the great pleasure of working with, and getting to know, Steve for over six years. He is passionate about forests and in helping others to enhance them. He worked in the forest industry since 1984, got his Bachelor of Science in Forestry in 1994, and is now retiring from his role as the Executive Director of the Forest Enhancement Society of BC (FESBC). He has previously held many roles within the sector from Timber Valuation Coordinator for Weldwood and General Manager of Forestry for the Council of Forest Industries, to working in BC Timber Sales and timber pricing for the BC Public Service.
What is most remarkable about Steve thought is the love he has for his work. Ask him to explain a complex forestry project or term, and his eyes light up as he walks you through the finer points and details, ensuring that by the end of a conversation, you 100% understood and were just as excited! A true teacher! Steve has also been widely recognized through the industry for his impact, and most recently led the FESBC team to win the prestigious 2024 Canadian Forest Management Group Achievement Award by the Canadian Institute of Forestry/Institut Forestier du Canada (CIF-IFC). He's a true leader!
As Steve retires from his role to spend more time with his equally remarkable wife Ruri, our team will miss him dearly, and we wanted to give him our biggest thanks for exemplifying true passion to drive remarkable impact! It's been a delightful example!
Steve – you are a remarkable person of impact. As is our team at Amplify Consulting Inc.’s commitment, we will donate $100 to a charity of your choice to further amplify both your remarkable impact and the charity’s.
Last week, we had the privilege of amplifying Steve Kozuki’s incredible impact. As part of AmpliFriday, we donate $100 to a charity of choice for our amplified individuals and Steve chose the Williams Lake SPCA. For Steve, it’s straightforward,
There are animals in need of compassion and the support of volunteers and donations.
The Williams Lake SPCA is one of the 32 community animal care centres operated by the BC SPCA. Whether you want to adopt or learn more about how you can make a difference for animals in your community, the BC SPCA, a leader in animal protection that provides services such as the Animal Food Bank Program, is your best resource.
Congratulations again, Steve, on being amplified; we are happy to make a $100 donation to support the Williams Lake SPCA in your honour.
