Terry-Lynn Stone

Today is March 8, 2024 – International Women’s Day – so this remarkable woman in the #Amplifriday spotlight is fitting for many reasons. We got a nomination to amplify the remarkable Terry-Lynn Stone from Terri Axani, and when we learned a little more about Terry-Lynn, we could not agree more that she needed to be recognized for her heart and determination to make the world better for all people.

"She is simply remarkable and worthy of being amplified."

Terri writes: “Terry-Lynn Stone is an incredible individual as she gives back to our community in many ways. As the Canadian President of Days for Girls, she organizes teams of volunteers to sew menstruation kits that are distributed worldwide. She sits on many boards including Developing World Connections and Kamloops Daybreak Rotary. She is the former Executive Director of Kamloops Brain Injury Association and a recipient of the City of Kamloops Exemplary Service Award. She is simply remarkable and worthy of being amplified.”

Terry-Lynn is indeed remarkable. She has five daughters and a background in ethics, perhaps leading to her keen awareness and drive for the advocacy work she has done for gender equity. Learning how girls in parts of the world have been discriminated against for something as natural as their periods, she formed the Kamloops chapter of ‘Days for Girls’ in November 2016. She’s been a part of a few trips to distribute the kits and has shared that each of these trips has ‘left a mark on her heart.’ We love seeing people like Terry-Lynn in action: a problem is recognized and then you set out to make change, inspiring others to jump on board, too!

Terry-Lynn – you are a remarkable person of impact. As is our team at Amplify Consulting Inc.’s commitment, we will donate $100 to a charity of your choice to further amplify both your remarkable impact and the charity’s.

We were eager to amplify Terry-Lynn Stone's remarkable impact last week. As a part of AmpliFriday, we donate $100 to a charity of choice for our amplified individual, and Terry-Lynn chose Days for Girls Canada

As Days for Girls Canada's President and Kamloops chapter team leader, Terry-Lynn is better suited than anyone to provide insight into the organization that has distributed over three million menstrual kits worldwide with the help of over 50 teams of Canadian volunteers.

"Volunteers at Days for Girls make beautiful, sustainable, washable menstrual kits to a very high standard. These kits, along with education, are distributed to menstruators worldwide, including Canada.

Our research shows that access to reliable menstrual products reduces the likelihood that girls will drop out of school.

Without education, they may be unable to reach their potential or at risk of becoming child brides or being trafficked. Women with reliable access to menstrual care don't have to miss school or work or use inappropriate products that can cause infections. Days for Girls improves gender equality!"

Congratulations again, Terry-Lynn, on being amplified; we are happy to make a $100 donation to Days for Girls Canada in your honour.
